Title: Guest Room Attendant

Reports to:Housekeeping Inspector

Location:Hotel

Salary:$17.00 - $21.00 per hour, (DOE)

Classification: Full-time, Regular, Non-Exempt, Non-Entry

Summary:

Thorough cleaning of the hotel facility, guest room, and patios which includes, making beds, changing linens, dusting, scrubbing floors/toilets/tubs/sinks, vacuuming, removing fingerprints and smudges from mirrors and glass, shining surfaces, replenishing and delivering work and guest supplies, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

including the following:

  1. Cleans guest rooms and public areas in accordance with established standards including, but not limited to, vacuuming, dusting, making of beds, cleaning bathrooms (tub, sink, toilet, and tiles), and emptying trash.
  2. Complies with housekeeping procedures, safety guidelines, and security procedures.
  3. Folds linens and maintains ample stock on cart of supplies needed to clean rooms and public areas.
  4. Replenishes bathroom supplies including, but not limited to, towels, soap, shampoo, and drinking glasses.
  5. Moves furniture, straightens bed, tables, curtains, and bedspreads.
  6. Washes interior windows, door panels, and sills.
  7. Empties wastebaskets and sanitary disposals.
  8. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  9. Reports maintenance deficiencies to the Front Office Manager, Housekeeping Inspector, and Facilities Department team members.
  10. Checks all furnishings and equipment (lights, radios, etc.) for needed repairs or maintenance.
  11. Sweeps, scrubs, polishes, and dusts floors, fixtures, and furniture.
  12. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  13. Notifies Facilities Department team members to clean exterior areas as needed.
  14. Organizes and arranges guest belongings as necessary to present a clean and orderly room.
  15. Checks all rooms for smoke odors and uses a cleaning machine as needed to remove odor.
  16. Reports all articles left behind by guests in accordance with policies and procedures.
  17. Maintains an accurate Room Attendant list and notifies the Front Desk of early/late departing guests and occupied/unoccupied rooms.
  18. Performs all duties in a manner that continually supports the vision, mission, values, and principles of Resort and Casino.
  19. Performs all duties in a manner that adheres to the guestservice standards established by the Resort and Casinos guest service program.
  20. Shall be polite and maintain a system in accepting other position related job duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS and ENVIRONMENT

  1. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  2. Must be available to work in a smoke-filled environment.
  3. Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  4. Continuously stands, and walks,
  5. Frequently bends/stoops, climbs, reaches above and below, kneels, and squats.
  6. Occasionally crawls.
  7. Continuously lifts/carries, pushes/pulls up to ten (10) pounds.
  8. Frequently lifts/carries, pushes/pulls up to fifty (50) pounds.
  9. Occasionally pushes/pulls up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
  10. While preforming the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skills or abilities required.

  1. Must be 21 years of age
  2. High School diploma or GED (required).
  3. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step directions.
  4. Ability to write simple correspondence and fill forms.
  5. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  6. Strong work ethic with a hands-on-approach.
  7. Highly motivated, energetic, and quality oriented.
  8. Ability to effectively communicate with guests and te m members in a positive manner is required.
  9. Excellent attention to detail.
  10. Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  11. Ability to remain calm and poised under pressure.
  12. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  13. Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  14. Must possess and maintain a valid state drivers license and be insurable by the RRCs insurance carrier.
  15. Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required.
  16. Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position.
  17. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  18. Must adhere to confidentiality policy.
  19. Must successfully pass a drug screening test and criminal background check.
  20. Indian preference will be observed in the hiring process.
