The Johnson Controls' North America Air Handling Unit (AHU) operation designs, builds and distributes a wide range of air handling equipment aimed at enhancing the efficiency and performance of our customers' HVAC systems. Johnson Controls manufactures some of the most elite air handling, variable air volume, and fan coil brands in the industry, including Johnson Controls, York, Frick, AcuAir, Miller-Picking, Solution, Enviro-Tec, Krueger, Titus, and Superior Rex.
The four primary manufacturing sites encompass over 750,000 square feet of manufacturing space. This footprint has led to significant employment growth in York, PA; Largo, FL; Hattiesburg, MS; and Albany, MO, where the workforce now totals approximately 1,100 employees. TheJohnson Controls' Airside Center of Excellence (ACE)is a state-of-the-art facility located in York, Pennsylvania. It serves as a world-class manufacturing, training, and support center for Johnson Controls' industry-leading air handling products.
How you will do it
Lead the development, deployment and execution of the factory master plan comprehensive strategy that outlines the long-term vision, goals, and steps for the development and optimization of the North America Air Handling Unit manufacturing facility footprint. This strategy will serve as a roadmap for future growth, efficiency improvements, and technological advancements.
Reduce complexity and streamline operations to achieve superior results. Analyze workflows to pinpoint areas where 20% of efforts can yield 80% of results, thereby triggering activities such as make vs buy, core versus non-core definition, and footprint optimization.
Partner with plant manufacturing engineering and maintenance to provide sufficient reporting of equipment capacity utilization (CU) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Ensure assets are fully utilized, performance improvements are identified and implemented, and best business practices are shared across operations. Maintain an inventory of equipment with a supporting mid to long-term replacement strategy.
Ensure the best practice sharing process operates successfully within the global products and solutions operating model.
Provide leadership and coaching to ensure benchmark technology, layout and flow and all known best practices, across the JCI network, are incorporated into new product lines and operations. Optimize manufacturing technology and footprint to drive ops excellence and resiliency.
Provide coaching and leadership to ensure that the Johnson Controls Manufacturing System (JCMS) principle for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is clearly understood and implemented.
Act as a key member of new product introductions and product design changes, understanding how those changes affect the manufacturing process.
Directs strategic plan initia ives involving production, materials, quality, design engineering, and other cross functional personnel.

What we look for
University degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of ten years manufacturing and production operations and/ormanufacturing engineering experience including successful supervisory experience.
Experienced leader of teams with demonstrated success fostering career growth and development.
Must have advanced knowledge and experience with Lean layouts and related flow strategy, automation, integration, and key Industry 4.0 technologies.
Strong technical skills in maintenance, tooling, facilities management, Six Sigma, and Lean principles.
Self-starter with hands-on approach required to ensure projects are advanced through the process.
Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including email and Microsoft Office software.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organization, and decision-making skills and abilities.
Solid presentation skills, including creation of executive-level presentation materials with willingness to present to large meetings of senior-level team members.
Ability to manage large, complex projects and provide effective leadership.
Will require a certain level of travel frequency, with the majority of destinations being within the United States and occasional international trips. The travel frequency and duration are designed to allow flexibility, supporting a healthy work/life balance and personal commitments.
