Tompkins Community Bank Commercial Lending Division Manager in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania
Overview
Responsible for directing and coordinating lending activities within assigned market, selling loans and other bank products, engaging in sales duties outside of the Bank’s place of business, and initiating and managing larger, more complex loans.
Collaborate with the Market President to establish lending goals for the market. Ensure compliance with all operating policies and procedures. Identifies and recommends the necessary technical skills training for various teams across commercial lending to promote the development, advancement and application of credit and sales skills, by mentoring/managing lenders and other members of the team.
Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate the Company’s lending activities as follows:
Formulate reviews and approve lending policies and procedures.
Assist with the assessment of the overall soundness of the loan portfolio and assist with policy and business development questions.
Solicit new business from present and prospective clients; provide direct loan service as appropriate and within established lending authority.
Develop and maintain extensive knowledge in the various credit products and services offered to Tompkins clients.
Work proactively, and in a constructive and diplomatic manner, with internal and external stakeholders to keep transactions moving forward and in accordance with appropriate controls.
Direct the activities of the Commercial Lending Department and business development for commercial lending.
Review, approve, or decline commercial loan requests.
Develop materials for and present to the Board of Directors.
Serve on the Loan Committee to review all loans.
Keep abreast of new developments in the commercial field, including; changing government regulations, keeping staff informed, etc.
Participate with the Market President in establishing specific goals for the market and implement strategies to achieve these goals.
Support the growth of client relationships with effective risk management.
Hold Commercial Lenders accountable for business development efforts.
Directly supervise assigned team members as follows:
Assist in the selection of new team members as appropriate.
Manage and make provisions for the proper orientation and training of new team members.
Hold quarterly performance discussions to develop team members and address progress towards sales goals.
Keep the team informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the department and/or their jobs.
Administer and hold team members accountable to adhering to company policies and procedures as established.
Provide timely reporting to the Market President and other appropriate groups or individuals.
Actively participate in the community in a manner that reflects the company’s brand and reputation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
Minimum of eight (8) years' related experience normally required.
Established credit sense and ability to articulate a view, work across a range of credit products, with experience in early problem recognition and resolution skills.
Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
Knowledge of current commercial lending laws and regulations.
Reputable management and supervisory skills.
Moderate PC skills.
