Social Security Administration Lead HR Specialist (LR/ER) in Woodlawn, Maryland

Summary Serves as a Team Leader, on a regular and recurring basis for at least 25% of the duty time, working with team members to achieve specific tasks, produce work products and services, and meet program and production goals. The Team Leader also participates in the work of the team by performing the same kind and level of work as the team. Responsibilities Ensures that work assignments/projects of the employees of the team are carried out by arranging the work among employees to allow timely completion and adequate work for each employee. Ensures that the organization strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, and work products and services. Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, program issues under review, deadlines, and time frames for completion. Leads the team by identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level, and/or occupational specialization. Makes adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks and ensures that each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product. Researches, learns, and applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze, and improve team effectiveness, efficiency, and work products. Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor’s instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met. Trains or arranges for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects and {CON'T} provides or arranges for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience MUST include interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policy, and procedures applicable to reasonable accommodation requests, employee, and labor relations, and negotiating with labor unions representatives. Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Education Additional Information In addition to the minimum qualifications, applicants must be eligible under the following category: Displaced or surplus Federal employees eligible under the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP). In addition to meeting the basic eligibility criteria, ICTAP applicants must be well qualified for the position. Well-qualified is defined as having knowledge, skills, and abilities that clearly exceed the minimum qualification requirements for the position. Under numeric rating procedures, qualified ICTAP applicants must receive a rating of 85 or higher to be eligible for selection.
