Job Summary
Working in the COO Office, the ideal candidate will support the management of the cadence, systems, and metrics that drive operational excellence for the Global Operations organization, also including managing and keeping track of the status of the operational risks within GF Operations. In addition to this, the candidate will be expected to support the execution of selected engagements within the COO scope, accelerating deliverable releases and promptly communicating results to the Senior Executives. This role will be instrumental in supporting cohesive cross-functional operations and strategic initiatives across global Manufacturing, IT, Supply Chain, and Quality departments with tight partnership from HR and Finance.
The ideal candidate is someone with:
Outstanding structured problem-solving abilities, being able to use systematic approaches to break down difficult problems into smaller, more manageable parts.
Exceptional communication skills both written (structured presentations, storytelling, effective meeting minutes) and verbal (executive leadership presence, assertiveness, synthesis skills)
Proven track record in running complex program management activities (Manufacturing, IT, Supply Chain, etc), including but not limited to managing KPIs and OKRs across multiple organizations, ensuring consistency and proactively addressing potential roadblocks.
Previous experience in managing and tracking operational risks, including status, impact and mitigation actions.
Curiosity and interest in managing and being involved in transformational activities within the manufacturing/operations scope.
Expert command of the Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint) and PowerBi tool, with proven ability to work confidently with large amount of data and summarize the main information in concise and executive-ready presentations and reports.
Your Job
- Management of Strategic Priorities:
Collaborate closely with the COO and the operations leadership team in developing, refining, and managing strategic initiatives that align with the company's goals and objectives.
Stand up and manage robust program management office (PMO) capabilities (frameworks, process, tools, people) to ensure delivery of core, multi-year priorities for Operations group.
Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure the effectiveness of operational strategies.
Synthesize complex data and information from various projects to provide insights that enhance decision-making processes for COO and direct reports.
Identify areas to streamline existing processes and workflows through global standards, identifying areas for opportunity with global working teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Act as a bridge between the COO and various departments, fostering open and effective communication channels.
Champion cross-functional projects, ensuring cohesion and synergy across teams for optimal operational outcomes.
Drive clarity across departments in terms of priority, timelines, and resourcing.
Empower team members to leverage their strengths in communication and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Management of specific engagements with Operations:
Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, and develop and communicate recommendations.
Synthesize clear takeaways from complex information into clear takeaways and recommendations using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Monitor financial performance against targets, leveraging analytical and financial acumen to identify and drive continuous improvements in cost reduction.
Work effectively with diverse teams to come up with the best solution and move people and organizations to act.
Communicate effectively with all audiences, including senior leaders, in a structured manner.
Required Qualifications
Education/Experience – BS + 5yrs of experience; MS + 2yrs of experience; PhD + 1yr of experience
Experience in operations management, strategic planning, or related roles in a global manufacturing environment (preferred).
Previous experience in Management Consulting (preferred).
Demonstrated expertise in synthesizing complex information and communicating it effectively across diverse stakeholders.
Clear ability to balance multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders and demonstrated aptitude for navigating conflict-resolution and uncertainty
Outstanding communication skills, experience in leading cross-functional teams, and history of driving operational excellence
High proficiency in project management tools, reporting, and Microsoft Office Suite + PowerBi tool
Open and able to travel internationally and willing to manage frequent international calendars / meetings
