Minnesota Urology P.A. Surgery Scheduler in Woodbury, Minnesota

Surgery Scheduler- Woodbury Monday-Friday Regular Daytime Hours, No Evenings, No Weekends, No Holidays! Primary Objective Efficiently and effectively schedule patients for services provided by Minnesota Urology physicians. This position will serve as a liaison between physicians, patients, clinics, hospitals, and surgery centers. RESPONSIBILITIES: Schedule patients accurately and efficiently for any and all surgical procedures requested by Minnesota Urology physicians. Inform patients regarding special diets, prep instructions, general insurance/referral information, arrival times, dates, locations, etc. Ability to organize work for efficiency and problem solve as related to surgery scheduling and its impact on physicians and clinic. Keeping up-to-date on all insurance requirements and following all guidelines requested. Document scheduled surgeries in NextGen/UroChart as appropriate. Ensure patients have necessary pre-certifications, prior authorization and/or referrals. Reschedule and cancel surgery and post-op appointments in a way which minimizes any inconveniences to the patient, including notification to the correct hospital or surgery center. Maintain effective and accurate daily physician surgery schedules. Additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma/GED Minimum of one year of surgery scheduling experience. Medical terminology knowledge required. Experience with insurances preferred. Experience or knowledge of current EMR systems preferred but will train. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) preferred.
