We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Night Shift Manager to join our Power & Controls Strategic Business Unit of Collins Aerospace, based at our HS Marston site in Wolverhampton.

The Role:

The expectation of the Night Shift Manager is to create a trusting and engaging team environment that complies with all the EH&S policies. The Night Shift manager must possess the necessary enthusiasm, drive and desire to succeed, and discipline to achieve significant results for the organisation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating shop staff & workflow to achieve the customer’s schedule

  • Motivate and drive a positive teamwork ethic and environment

  • Maintain on time finishes achieving zero overdue

  • Control work in progress and value stream inventory to plan

  • Work within the departmental budget for shop tools and consumables

  • Achieve the highest possible visual, 5S results for the workplace

  • Improve utilisation / productivity / day worked metrics

  • Achieve standard times and reduce through improvement opportunities

  • Develop process robustness and audit compliance accuracy

  • Assist Team Leaders & Senior Operators in developing and maintaining the skills matrix

  • Lead the Night shift Tier reviews, to include a real time problem resolution mindset

  • Compile comprehensive handover notes to the OCM

  • Carry out a return-to-work interviews

  • Carry out all Coms to the night shift

  • Carry out periodic one to one employee meetings

  • Own customer returns for your value stream and maintain TAT metrics

  • Minimise departmental downtime through robust TPM schedules and ownership

  • Lead EH&S compliance and CORE improvements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Apprentice trained City & Guilds or equivalent

  • Significant proven experiences in a supervisory capacity

  • Proven continuous improvement background

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Trustworthiness and accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within aerospace or manufacturing environment

  • ILM Level 3 qualified, IOSH or NEBOSH certified
