Job Title: Aircraft Engine Mechanic

Job Description

The Engine Technician troubleshoots, performs maintenance, and repairs aircraft engines and related aircraft components.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company and/or hangar positions.

  • Comply with Environmental/Health/Safety policies and procedures.

  • Participate in 5-S activities.

  • Perform all work in a safe and timely manner.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and perform maintenance on engines and related aircraft problems.

  • Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.

  • Remove, install, and replace aircraft engines and accessories.

  • Assist with performing complete engine runs.

  • Operate ground support equipment.

  • Assist with off-aircraft component repair.

  • Perform mechanical and electrical removals and installations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Airframe & Powerplant Certificate

  • 0 – 2+ years of aircraft maintenance and repair, or substantiated equivalent experience

  • Previous experience in A/C turbine engine maintenance

  • Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings

  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal form on aircraft status

  • Basic PC skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience on either corporate or commercial jet aircraft (preferred)

  • Tug qualified (preferred)

  • Forklift qualified (preferred)

  • Ground Support Equipment qualified (preferred)

Work Environment

Second Shift (Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2:00am) and Weekend Shift (Friday-Sunday 3/12's, works 36 hours; paid for 40).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $48.00/hr.
