Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Chemist to join our team on a 1-year contract in Wilson, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience with routine laboratory testing, instrument troubleshooting, and data documentation in a cGMP-regulated environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge laboratory equipment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory tests, including dissolution, assay/degradate, content uniformity, and identity testing, following cGMP guidelines.

  • Accurately document test results and enter data into Labware/LIMS.

  • Troubleshoot basic instrumentation issues and participate in root cause analysis.

  • Contribute to investigation meetings and assist in drafting investigation reports.

  • Participate in daily Tier processes and apply 5S principles to maintain an organized lab environment.

  • Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and draft quality notifications.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering (if applicable).

  • Experience operating routine laboratory equipment (e.g., Karl Fisher, pH meter, conductivity meter, UV).

  • Strong understanding of cGMP principles and regulatory requirements.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced laboratory equipment (e.g., HPLC, dissolution apparatus, FTIR, NIR).

  • Proficiency in Empower and Labware/LIMS systems.

  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and troubleshooting lab issues.

  • Technical writing skills, including updating SOPs and drafting quality notifications.

  • Familiarity with Tier processes and 5S principles.
