Purpose: The staff accountant is responsible for ensuring customers are billed accurately and in accordance with established monthly, quarterly and year-end schedules. This includes but is not limited to Amazon Ground Training, Amazon c-check materials, USTRANSCOM military flights (in SAP and WAWF), reimbursable items, part sales, and other ad hoc billing as required. The staff accountant will prepare S1/S2 reports to support the USTRANSCOM military contract. Other duties may include preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis and special projects as assigned. This position will assist the Accounting Supervisor with adhering to strong internal controls to comply with Sarbanes Oxley requirements and may be required to assist in audits, including financial and the Defense Contract Audit. The Staff Accountant will be a member of the ATI Finance Team and as such, confidentiality, tact, sensitivity, and professionalism are essential ingredients of performance. Job Functions: Prepare and generate invoices to Amazon for ground training services Prepare and generate invoices to Amazon for c-check materials Prepare and generate all USTRANSCOM invoices in both the internal ATI financial system (SAP) and the USTRANSCOM system (WAWF). Generate all other invoices including but not limited to reimbursable items, part sales, ad hoc charters, etc. Perform account reconciliations for reimbursable items accounts Perform month-end close duties (accruals, allocations, adjustments, etc.) Prepare monthly S1/S2 reports for USTRANSCOM Position Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Must possess basic math skills, strong organization and analytical skills, and knowledge of accounting principles. Excellent computer skills including Excel, Access, and Word required. Must be highly detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, maintain a strong work ethic, and promote a cooperative work atmosphere. Must be able to function independently and effectively in a self-directed environment. Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management and with outside customers. Preferred Job Skills: Experience with SAP accounting a plus Two (2) years accounting experience a plus Previous airline of aviation experience a plus Physical Requirements: Employees are regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
