Job Title: Carpenter ($55,000-$70,000) Based off experience

Job Description

Overview: A commercial carpenter is a skilled tradesperson who specializes in constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials in commercial settings. These settings can include schools, hospitals, office buildings, and other large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints to understand detailed architectural plans and determine materials and dimensions required.

  • Constructing frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes, ensuring they are level, square, and securely assembled.

  • Installing doors, windows, cabinets, staircases, and other fixtures.

  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, and sanders, as well as heavy-duty equipment like cranes and pulleys.

  • Working with various materials, including wood, steel, concrete, and welding metal parts when necessary.

  • Adhering to safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Collaborating with electricians, plumbers, and other construction professionals to ensure project specifications are met.

  • Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition and managing construction materials efficiently.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.

  • Experience in constructing frameworks and installing fixtures.

  • Skill in using hand and power tools, as well as heavy-duty equipment.

  • Ability to work with various materials, including wood, steel, and concrete.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

  • Experience in collaborating with other construction professionals.

  • Ability to maintain tools and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • State-specific licenses for commercial carpentry work.

  • Certifications in scaffolding, safety, or specific carpentry techniques.

  • Completion of trade school or vocational programs.

  • Participation in or completion of recognized apprenticeship programs.

  • Proficiency with advanced carpentry tools and machinery.

  • Skills in finish carpentry, framing, or cabinetry.

  • Experience in leading a team or managing projects.

  • Skills in budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with other trades.

  • OSHA certification and familiarity with local and national building codes.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve construction-related issues.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44200.00 - $44200.00/yr.
