UPMC General and Cardiac Anesthesiologist in Williamsport, Pennsylvania
University of Pittsburgh Physicians located at U. S. Steel Tower, 57 th Floor, 600 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, seeks a General and Cardiac Anesthesiologist to perform preoperative intraoperative, and postoperative care for patients who undergo heart surgery and other related procedures; administer anesthetic or sedation during surgical operations involving the heart, lungs, and other operations of the human chest, and procedures such as minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery and complex multi-stage aortic surgery; monitor patients’ physical conditions and bodily reactions to anesthesia during surgical procedures; document all aspects of care directly administered, perform consultations, and communicate with surgeons, patients, family members, and other anesthesia staff; examine patients’ medical histories and use diagnostic tests to determine and counteract potential risks or adverse reactions that may occur during surgical procedures; coordinate care and multi-modal pain management plans for patients recovering from surgery and establish preventative health practices at 700 High St., Williamsport PA 17701.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform preoperative intraoperative, and postoperative care for patients who undergo heart surgery and other related procedures
Administer anesthetic or sedation during surgical operations involving the heart, lungs, and other operations of the human chest, and procedures such as minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery and complex multi-stage aortic surgery; monitor patients’ physical conditions and bodily reactions to anesthesia during surgical procedures
Document all aspects of care directly administered, perform consultations, and communicate with surgeons, patients, family members, and other anesthesia staff
Examine patients’ medical histories and use diagnostic tests to determine and counteract potential risks or adverse reactions that may occur during surgical procedures
Coordinate care and multi-modal pain management plans for patients recovering from surgery and establish preventative health practices.
Requires a Medical Degree or its equivalent or its foreign equivalent
Must have completed a residency in Anesthesiology
Must have completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology
Must be board certified or eligible for certification in Anesthesiology
Must have a valid, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license
