InterMetro Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our manufacturing facility located in Wilkes Barre, PA. Strategically drives the creation, evaluation, and implementation of the Vision and Strategies for the Wilkes-Barre Manufacturing Engineering Department. Provides the Engineering team with the support it needs in executing Metro strategies and in meeting corporate commitments. Primary Responsibilities: Provides direction and management of the technical resources of the manufacturing facility. This includes manufacturing engineers, and technicians, as well as coordination with facility and equipment maintenance. Identifies opportunities and implements changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts. Determines root causes of failures using engineering methods and recommends changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods. Provides technical expertise or support related to manufacturing, system evaluation, system analysis or technology design. Incorporates new methods and processes to improve existing operations. Works with other parts of the organization such as safety, Quality, product development, sales, and marketing in order to provide manufacturing processes to fulfill the strategic product offerings assigned to the facility. Troubleshoots new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes. Reviews product designs for manufacturability and bill of materials for accuracy. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree required in Engineering Discipline - Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Management Science, or similar preferred 5-8 years of relevant experience Lean Manufacturing preferred Excellent mathematical and problem solving skills Excellent communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to manage resources within the framework of short- and long-range budget plans and other resources. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to develop solutions using substantial creativity, resourcefulness, innovation, negotiation, and diplomacy. Ability to manage projects of a complex nature and/or multiple projects Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
