Corporate Angel Network Patient Services Flight Scheduler in White Plains, New York

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients? You can do so at Corporate Angel Network (CAN)! In this role you will be responsible for registering and booking patients for patient flights to treatment using a patient centered process. The Flight Scheduler is a vital team member in the patient services department who identifies and schedules corporate flights that will transport cancer patients to specialized medical centers. The Scheduler is responsible for optimizing the cancer patient experience and flight completion rate by scheduling flights, completing patient registrations, ensuring all proper flight paperwork is secured and maintaining a good partnership with corporate flight departments. Key Responsibilities:

Coordinates patient registrations, including contact details, travel dates, doctor information, and finalizing medical verification. Maintains and updates aircraft schedules on a regular and timely basis. Interfaces with corporate flight departments to identify potential flight options and works within company protocols to secure seats. Identifies flight options and gains approval from flight departments and patients. Ensures all pre-flight paperwork and verifications are in place and saves documents accordingly. Secures weekly seats with companies who have regularly scheduled flight routes. Works with Manager to schedule and provide alternative flight options and additional patient resources. Anticipates potential issues with patient cases and provides solutions in advance. Identifies and implements new, effective ways to improve the scheduling process. Educates patients and medical community on benefits of private travel, particularly for cancer patients in active treatments. Helps patients overcome flight concerns/objections. Provides patients with CAN passenger guidelines and backup plans in case of changes/cancellations. Communicates with patients throughout the flight scheduling process to keep them engaged and up to date with developments and flight request status. Acts as a sounding board to volunteers by answering questions and supporting their work in real time. On-call/after-hours rotation cell phone coverage.

Requirements HS Diploma required. Bachelors Degree preferred. 2-4 years customer service related experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Ability to learn and use in-house database Interpersonal skills/compassionate/professional to deal with cancer patients and medical centers Highly organized and motivated Self-sufficient and able to manage and motivate others
