Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an Engineer II with a track record of demonstrating talent and ambition to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Whitby, ON, Canada. What will you do?
In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to offer technical guidance and expertise on packaging processes and components to our commercial packaging and pharmaceutics/process technology (PPT) departments. You will be accountable for conducting engineering line trials and performance qualifications for new packaging products, as well as aiding in the development of packaging serialization requirements. Your proficiency in computer skills and knowledge will be crucial in suggesting and implementing solutions to address technical or quality challenges associated with serialization integration. Moreover, you will provide technical assistance to our commercial packaging operations and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
How will you get here:
To excel in this role, candidates should hold a College/Technical School diploma in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical field. A Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar area is preferred. Having at least 1 year of relevant experience and a solid understanding of drug packaging, validation, or packaging production is required. Familiarity with conducting technical/scientific discussions with clients and proficiency in SAP enterprise software would be advantageous.
