Calibration Clerk

Whippany Actuation Systems is a dynamic aerospace company that designs and manufactures electromechanical actuators and control electronics for commercial and military applications. We are looking for a detail orientated individual to work as part of the Test Engineering/Calibration Team as our newest Calibration Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for the retrieval and issuance of gages and the maintenance of the company's record database.

In this role, you would typically:
  • Retrieve Gages/Tools scheduled for calibration from manufacturing areas.
  • Make database updates to incoming / outgoing assets
  • Generate Recall list
  • Interface with internal customers on status requests
  • Interface with Calibration vendors on status, tracking updates
  • Create shipping record of outgoing Gages to calibration Vendors
  • Unpack returned Gages and return to Storage location or assigned work centers

We require:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1 year experience providing administrative support within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Authorization to work in the US

Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

We would really like to see:
  • Bachelors' degree in technical area or trade certification
  • Familiarity with precision measuring devices, tools and gages used in machine shops.
  • Experience with industry calibration standards (ANSI NCSL Z540.3, ISO/IEC 17025)
  • Experience with industry quality and configuration control system methodologies (AS9100, ISO:9001)
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates a can-do attitude.
  • Bias for action. Ability to recognize problems, drive resolution, and follow through to completion.
  • Results-oriented. Drives to achieve both short- and long-term goals.
  • Customer focused. Driven to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.

Physical Requirements Include:

  • Individual will be required to travel throughout the production facility while simultaneously transporting material between work areas frequently.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment such as calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.
  • Positions self to maintain files in cabinets.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • The ability to observe details at close range to ensure accuracy.
  • Occasionally moves boxes or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds across office.
