FTE: 1.000000 Shift: Shift 1 Job Summary: The responsibilities of the Biomedical Engineering Specialist include installation, calibration, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of basic and complex patient care equipment such as ventilators, balloon pumps, anesthesia units, sterilization, endoscopy systems, other diagnostic/therapeutic equipment and other related technical equipment. Also possess advanced knowledge and experience in a particular system or technology such as advanced invasive procedure systems, specialized life support equipment, surgical lasers, clinical laboratory, robotics, device integration, or IT infrastructure. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 7 years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of basic and complex medical equipment is required. 10 years of related experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment is preferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Associate degree in Biomedical or Electrical Technology or equivalent military training is required. In lieu of the associate degree, a total of 8 years of relevant work experience is required Bachelor\'s degree in Biomedical, Clinical, Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems. Understanding of information systems and networking theory. Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex medical equipment such as ventilators, balloon pumps, anesthesia units, sterilization, endoscopy systems, other diagnostic/therapeutic equipment and other related technical equipment. Strong analytical skills and critical thinking ability. Excellent written and verbal communication. Advanced knowledge and experience in a particular system or technology such as advanced invasive procedure systems, specialized life support equipment, surgical lasers, clinical laboratory, robotics, device integration, or IT infrastructure. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Valid WI driver\'s license is required. CBET Certification is preferred.
