Johnson Controls Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania

The Production Supervisor manages the production employees' functions in assigned work areas to ensure support of all components of manufacturing required to meet the needs and requirements of internal and external customers with established specifications with scheduled completion dates. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the team achieves goals in safety, quality, cost and delivery; works closely with other departments as well as coordinating activities across all shifts; handles administrative tasks as necessary such as payroll, vacation management, production reporting, small projects, etc.

How you will do it

Supervise various departments and ensure employees achieve goals in safety, quality, productivity, cost and delivery.

Coordinate activities of various department and assign employees to critical work areas across the entire plant.

Address operating issues as they arise on the floor by utilizing quality, engineering, and department resources as necessary.

Maintain effective working relationship and communication with all departments.

Provide leadership on small projects and participate in larger continuous improvement projects.

Enforce plant policies and manages administrative tasks such as payroll, vacation tracking and overtime.

Train and develop assigned employees and ensure compliance with ISO standards.

Drive safety performance within area(s) to achieve the JCI gold safety status (goal: no recordables or lost time injuries).

Perform safety observations/inspections as required.

Participate in incident investigations for injuries and near misses that occur within area(s).

Enforce the use of all required PPE and applicable safety/environmental rules within department(s).

Responsible for the correction of safety/environmental issues discovered within area(s).

Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.

What we look for

Required:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing environment OR Associate degree and a minimum of six (6) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to work 2nd shift (1:30PM-10:30PM Monday-Friday as well as weekend overtime as needed to support production).

Proficiency using MS Office Suite.

Preferred:

Union experience preferred.
