Saint-Gobain Product Manager - Sliding Bearings in WAYNE, New Jersey

As Product Manager you will be involved overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to market launch and beyond. In this role you will be collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure that products meet customer needs and business objectives. By conducting market research, analyzing customer feedback, and monitoring industry trends, the Product Manager identifies opportunities for innovation and improvement. The role is crucial in defining product roadmaps, as well as managing BCP and product liability analysis

  • Must have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar - master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business or similar is preferred

  • 5-10 years experience in designing engineering, mechanical engineering, concept engineering, R&D engineering required.

  • Must be able to develop and implement product strategies that align with business goals and market demands.

  • Lead and facilitate cross functional project teams, with influence. Highly effective in team environment and project management. Able to boundary span.

  • 2-5 years experience in product management (physical products not digital products) preferred.

  • Proficiency in Market research in conducting market analysis to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Having working knowledge of agile working methodologies.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills

Essential functions include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends that is used to create and maintain the product roadmap for sliding bearings.- Continually assess the product value propositions, pricing and margins and recommend back to H1/H2 leadership teams actions to be taken as a result.

  • Develop specifications for R&D projects to develop, improve or create new materials for the product line.- Translate customer/market requirements into technical ones

  • Assess, launch and support marketing campaigns and tools for new product launches and boosting existing technology (regional).- Includes generating (and/or organising the generation) of marketing content (e.g. website copy etc.)

  • Product Training – train sales/engineering on new products that are being launched.- Be available to support at customer visits / shows

  • Analysing competitive landscape, reporting to the business and adapting product strategy if needed

  • Assess product liability and BCP and ensure that strategies are generated for both topics.- Work with sites to generate the required documentation for new products
