Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is currently seeking an experienced and technology agnostic Systems Administrator specializing in Tableau, SAS, and Socrata to oversee and optimize the daily operations, maintenance, and performance of our data analytics platforms. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of these systems while supporting business objectives through efficient data management and analytics. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills, with a commitment to delivering an exceptional user experience and will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and team-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Tableau, SAS (both SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya), and Socrata environments.

  • Perform regular system updates, patching, and upgrades to ensure system security and compatibility.

  • Proactively monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

  • Manage user roles, permissions, and access levels to ensure data security and regulatory compliance.

  • Implement SSL certificates and secure authentication protocols to safeguard access to systems and data.

  • Support end-users on best practices, data access, and troubleshooting.

  • Conduct regular system audits and implement best practices for data security, adhering to organizational security standards and industry regulations.

  • Ensure that all data in transit and at rest is encrypted as needed, working with security teams to harden systems against unauthorized access.

  • Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine tasks, backups, monitoring, and system health checks.

  • Utilize Python, Shell, and PowerShell scripts to streamline operations and enhance process efficiency.

  • Work closely with data teams to optimize report generation, data loading times, and resource allocation across platforms.

  • Serve as the point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues within the Tableau, SAS, and Socrata environments.

  • Coordinate with IT and vendor support teams for timely issue resolution and escalation.

  • Lead projects related to system enhancements, upgrades, and migrations, including SAS 9.4 to SAS Viya.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Data Engineering, BI, IT Security) to align system configurations with business needs.

  • Create and maintain documentation on system configuration, processes, and user guides for cross-departmental sharing.

  • Develop and monitor dashboards to track system health, usage, and critical alerts.

  • Generate and distribute regular reports on system performance, usage statistics, and incident logs to key stakeholders.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Years of experience can substitute bachelor’s degree

  • Must have 12+ years of experience providing Service Management System administration services.

  • Minimum 5+ years of systems administration experience with Tableau Server, SAS, and Socrates.

  • Proven experience in managing enterprise-level analytics and BI platforms.

  • Must have experience managing SMS development activities and be proficient in applying the SDLC and DevOps principles.

  • Tableau Server Certified Associate or Professional or SAS Certified Platform Administrator for SAS 9 or Viya. Certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure) or security (e.g., CISSP) are a plus.

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.

  • Solid understanding of data security, SSL/TLS certificate management, and encryption.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT service management tools.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database management for performance tuning.

  • Experience with cloud-based environments and virtualized server management is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting

  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals

  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.

  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.

  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
