Job Description:

GDIT has an opportunity for a dynamic and collaborative SOC Operations Manager to join our team. This SOC Operations Manager will be a member of our team supporting the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AOUSC), Information Technology Security Office (ITSO). As a team member, the SOC Operations Manager will work collaboratively with federal and contractor staff to ensure the SOC effectively meets the security operations requirements in a timely and comprehensive manner.

HOW A SOC OPERATIONS MANAGER/LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Operations Management to ensure the smooth running of daily operational requirements

  • People Management, including motivating team members towards a common goal and planning follow-up and evaluation of team members’ performance objectives

  • Performance Management, i.e., aligning operations KPIs towards the company’s objectives

  • To ensure excellent customer service at all points in time while interfacing with customers/ global business owners.

  • To ensure excellent quality of service as per SLAs for customers and KPIs.

  • To work with team members to provide support and assistance to team members in their daily work

Operations Management

  • Work with the Program Manager to Implement and monitor KPIs

  • Analyze trends and derive relevant action plans to correct or improve low-performance

  • Ensure SOPs are followed through regular audits and analysis

  • Report promptly on escalations and negative trends to management

  • Propose solutions to prevent mistakes

  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset

People Management

  • Monitor and manage individual performance

  • Implement action plans to close the gap between low and high performers

  • Ensure proper coverage is maintained for each shift, including holidays

  • Motivate team members to promote team cohesion

  • Work with the Program Manager to reward and recognize team members’ efforts and good work.

  • Develop team members to ensure skill levels match current and future operational and customer requirements.

Performance Management

  • Implement required strategies to ensure ongoing high levels of customer satisfaction through regular reviews (case audits) and provide continuous service improvement.

  • Ensure adherence to established policy procedures & processes

  • Assist the Program Manager with generating reports and ensuring all reporting is done on time

  • Assist the Program Manager in conducting employee performance reviews in accordance with company policy.

Interface Management

  • Participate as needed in regular meetings with customers & relevant stakeholders.

  • Manage escalations by keeping all stakeholders in the loop regarding actions being carried out.

  • Participate regularly and actively in all management and process meetings

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a SOC environment, with at least two years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience in managing 24x7x365 security operations.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and attack vectors.

  • Proficiency with security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR).

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

The likely salary range for this position is $134,597 - $204,360. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
