Disney Entertainment Coordinator, Scheduling (National Geographic) in Washington, District Of Columbia
The Coordinator, Scheduling works with the Post-Production leadership team, internal partners Yellow Border, On-Air Marketing, Social and Digital Media teams to schedule editing and audio sessions in the post-production environment to meet streaming and content operations air deadlines. This Coordinator delivers all promo materials according to the strategic needs and goals of the marketing department. The Coordinator is the last line of defense making certain that promo assets are delivered for air on time, on brand and on strategy. The Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day workload assignment of internal edit/audio team and the primary liaison between the producer and post facility for ensuring all assets are delivered in compliance with specifications set forth by the creative and content operations. The post-production environment is made up of 40+ editors and audio engineers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Update the Media Pulse resource management system with post-production scheduling information.
Review delivery and distribution scheduling changes to make post-production assignment adjustments in support of resource operations at the Post-Production.
Communicate daily with producers, editors, and audio engineers to confirm their scheduled sessions in Media Pulse at least 1 business day in advance. Adjust bookings as needed when edit/audio time is released and communicate with editors, audio, and producers when changes affect them.
Assist the Media Manager to restore and archive video, audio and graphics media used in the post-production environment.
Review the Global Priorities Report daily to ensure the edit/audio bookings in Media Pulse correctly reflect the post needs.
Respond to emails from editors, audio, and producers in a timely manner regarding scheduling and media management.
Conduct meetings and provide updated status related to promo scheduling needs.
Coordinate with the Content Operations and Quality Control on QC, and delivery of promo assets for on-air, cross-channel, streaming and content promotable.
Create, edit, and distribute cutsheets for on-air, cross-channel, barters and various other streaming and content operation initiatives.
Work with the On-Air Marketing team to coordinate delivery of Synergy and Off-Air campaign deliverables in a timely manner to ensure off air strategy is met. This includes, but not limited to our Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, ABC News colleagues.
Ensure promos scheduled for weekend air are completed before EOD on Friday for a smooth weekend.
Shepherd promos through the S&P process where applicable and be familiar with the types of content that raise flags with the S&P team.
Coordinate communication of pushed spots to Promo Group, Producers & Post Facility.
Confirm delivery of spots in SDVI/MediaHub (or latest Disney platform).
Ensure editors notify the NGC Promo group when spots have delivered.
Provide status updates for promo materials to Disney Burbank/Woodlands uplink facility as needed.
Provide status updates to promo and strategy teams during non-business hours for undelivered promos.
Working with Post Scheduling Manager, Quality-Control, Engineering, Short Form Editing, Director of Editing Operations and Director of Audio to ensure timely and technically sound delivery for high-profile incoming promos arriving outside of the standard business day ensuring all flight dates are met and strategy is not compromised.
Maintain and distribute master project list on a daily basis ensuring that Producers are aware of their assignment’s status.
Maintain and distribute master outstanding project list on a bi-weekly basis ensuring the Post-Production leadership is aware of what projects are outstanding.
Assist the management team with administrative duties such as data entry, reconciling data between systems and other delegated tasks on a daily basis.
Other duties, as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with MS Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and Airtable.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Must demonstrate work consistency and keep errors to a minimum.
Must be self-motivated with a great attitude and the ability to work with a growing, fast-paced team.
Must have strong customer service/client relations skills.
Must have superior organizational skills and the ability to foresee and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
Should have the ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects while remaining calm under pressure and work under hard deadlines.
Must be flexible for occasional night and/or weekend work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have some familiarity with broadcast and digital specifications within the network environment.
Experience with Post-Production / scheduling and coordination.
Experience with promo/short-form high volume distribution a plus.
Preferred Education:
- College degree in Video/Film Production or 2+ years television experience preferred.
The hiring range for this position in Washington, D.C. is $53,300 to $71,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
