Intermediate Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)

Location: APG, MD or Detroit, MI metro area

VES, LLC is currently seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the Ground Combat Systems' Common Infrastructure Architecture (GCIA) and Ground Vehicle Operating System (GVOS) development efforts. In this role, you will work on requirements analysis, tracing, and decomposition, ensuring that system models accurately reflect design needs and constraints. You will collaborate closely with software, systems, and hardware engineers to develop highly structured and traceable architectures for modern U.S. Army ground combat platforms.

General Job Duties:

• Develop SysML-based system models using Cameo or similar MBSE tools.
• Perform requirements analysis, tracing, and decomposition to ensure system integrity.
• Maintain traceability between high-level system requirements and detailed software/hardware designs.
• Support DoD standards-based system engineering processes, ensuring compliance with Army and DoD guidelines.
• Generate system diagrams, documentation, and interface definitions to support cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with software engineers to define interfaces, constraints, and interactions within the architecture.
• Assist in the development of verification and validation strategies to confirm compliance with system requirements.
• Work closely with stakeholders to support model reviews and technical documentation updates.

Desired Requirements:

• Understanding of requirements management and traceability using tools like DOORS or Jama.
• Familiarity with ground vehicle combat systems or embedded software architectures.
• Experience collaborating in a DoD or defense-related engineering environment.
• Security clearance eligibility (active clearance preferred).

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Proficiency in Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or similar MBSE tools.
• Experience developing SysML models for complex system architectures.
