Description

A prominent Bay Area Law firm known for its commitment to excellence and client satisfaction is seeking an IP Biller to join the Menlo Park, CA team immediately. Role is contract/ temporary for 3 – 6 months. Pay is based on level of experience.

The IP Biller will serve as the primary point of contact for all client-related billing inquiries within the revenue cycle. This role requires strong collaboration with various teams including Client Managers,

Conflicts, NBI, Billing, Collections, AR, and AP to ensure accurate and efficient billing processes.

Key Responsibilities

· Act as the central point of contact for BATTYs (Billing Attorneys) regarding client billing inquiries throughout the revenue cycle.

· Collaborate with intersecting teams and roles to facilitate the opening of new matters, ensuring accurate and complete client information is obtained and maintained.

· Coordinate closely with BATTYs, Legal Staff, NBI team, and Billing/eBilling team to set up billing-related information, including intake, codes, and structures.

· Conduct rigorous pre-review of monthly proformas for select clients, ensuring adherence to task codes, and maintaining consistency in spelling and grammar.

· Review billing rates for accuracy by matter and coordinate any necessary corrections or adjustments.

· Ensure all timekeepers are approved by clients and billed at appropriate rates.

· Partner with Billing Specialists to address invoice appeals and rejections promptly and effectively.

· Demonstrate strong analytical skills to identify and resolve potential billing issues, prioritize concerns, and make informed decisions.

· Maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information at all times.

· Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal teams and external clients.

· Display a proactive work ethic, flexibility in adapting to changing priorities, and a positive, can-do attitude.

· Achieve measurable results, diligently pursuing associated objectives within deadlines.

· Foster a collaborative environment, contributing to team success and promoting a culture of excellence.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Minimum of 6-10 years of billing experience, preferably with exposure to legal billing systems like 3E or Elite Enterprise.

· Proficiency in handling IP billing processes and procedures is highly desirable.

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in billing operations.

· Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

· Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.

· Team-oriented with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
