Purpose and Scope:

As a Platform Engineer of a team of individuals in a specific area of digital expertise, you will be a crucial player in driving our digital initiatives forward in our agile organization. Our agile operating model consists of two components – Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution is about aligning multiple missions around business goals and facilitating collaboration on a larger scale. Digital Capability, on the other hand, will focus on the growth and development of individuals within a specific are of expertise. This dual structure enables us to scale agile practices efficiently while maintaining a focus on both product development and individual skill enhancement.

An Enterprise Business Platforms Engineer focuses on the development, deployment, and integration of software platforms that support our business processes and operations. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and a deep understanding of the specific platforms that drive business functions such as CRM (Customer Relationship Management, Sales Force, Veeva), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning such as SAP), and SCM (Supply Chain Management) and Clinical, Patient Safety, Quality Management Solutions. The goal is to ensure these platforms are optimized to support business goals, enhance efficiency, and drive growth.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Platform Development and Configuration: Design, develop, and configure business platforms to meet the specific needs of our organization. This could involve programming, configuring settings, and integrating various software solutions.

  • System Integration: Ensure seamless integration between different business platforms and systems (e.g., integrating SuccessFactors, Payroll and S/4 systems) to enhance data flow and business processes.

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor the performance of business platforms, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and user experience.

  • User Support and Training: Provide technical support to platform users, resolve issues, and conduct training sessions to ensure users can effectively utilize the platforms.

  • Initiative Execution: Actively participate in and contribute to various initiatives, applying your specialized skills to achieve the objectives and expected Value. Contribute to the ongoing realization of Value from these enterprise platforms through continuous integration and deployment.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members within the subdivision and across other digital and business units.

  • Continuous Learning: Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in a specific area of expertise.

  • Innovation: Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities.

  • Reporting: Regularly report on the progress of the various Value Teams and outcomes to your Capability Lead and team members.

  • Problem-Solving: Employ analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome project challenges and deliver effective solutions.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality and consistency in the work delivered.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, e.g., HR, Computer Science, Data Science

  • Demonstrated experience in specific area of digital capability

  • 3Business Process Understanding: Knowledge of key business processes and how enterprise platforms and systems support these processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in relevant tools and technologies, e.g., SF, CPI, SAC, XML, Azure Dev Ops, ALM test tool, Service Now ticketing tool is highly beneficial

  • Agile and adaptable to changing environments and project scopes.

  • 5-10 years of industry experience with a proven record of accomplishment as a team lead of large and complex SAP business system transformation programs.

  • 5 years of experience with implementing & leading SAP Purchase to Pay team in a lead configuration role

  • 3 years of experience in the Life Sciences Industry

  • Major large, complex high-end SAP, Ariba, Implementations; experience in multi-country implementations required

  • Broad and deep SAP application and technical knowledge including latest innovations required

  • Must have had hands-on experience with designing, configuring, and implementing SAP (Ariba, solutions and modules covering business processes in Purchase to Pay.

  • Must have had experience with implementing one or more of the SAP solutions listed below and should have hands-on SAP Ariba, SAP ECC or S4 HANA design and or deployment experience in multiple modules.

  • Must have knowledge of Integration with other SAP modules like MDG, HR, MM, FI and GRC

  • SAP Ariba Guided Buying, Invoice Pro, SLP, ICS, Spend Analytics

  • Solution awareness and overall understanding of one or more of the solutions

  • Bolt-on applications such as DocuSign, Thompson Reuters Tax Engine,

  • Knowledge in Administration systems – SAP Solution Manager, Enable Now, HP ALM & Service Now.

  • Application integration technologies – CIG, SAP PO, CPI, External gateway systems

  • Ability to work in highly matrixed environments managing global teams comprised of employees and system integrators.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead culturally diverse teams including offshore models

  • Innovative mindset and experience with agile, proto-typing, and rapid development models

  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, analytical, change management and communication skills aligned with program goals and principles

  • Versatility and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

  • Excellent understanding of business functional areas and ""end to end"" global business processes & sub-processes.

  • Work experience across multiple cultures and countries / regions is a plus

  • Fluent in written and verbal business English/Japanese.
