RCM Technologies Data Governance Analyst in United States
Full Time Contract possible Right To Hire Title or Role: Data Governance Analyst Compensation: up to $68/hour commensurate with experience Location: HYBRID, 3 days mid-town NYC, 2 days remote Length of Contract: 1 year contract , then right to hire, 7.5 hour work day The Data Management Office identifies the Bank's data needs and aligns data investments with business strategy; partners with stakeholders to apply data governance best practices to activities with tangible business value; rapidly & securely provisions the right data to the right audience at the right time; delivers a high-touch customer service experience which meets the needs and exceeds the expectations of our customers Position Description: Play a critical role in advancing the Bank's problem-solving approach to Data Governance by applying data management best practices and leading-edge capabilities to deliver tangible results with demonstrable business value. Collaborate enterprise-wide with business & technical data subject matter experts to advance the program's maturity to its next level. Expect a 7.5-hour work day, working with a small team within the data management office who are collaborative, efficient and supportive. Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and assistance to Data Stewards and technology subject matter experts (SMEs) with metadata management related activities (e.g., developing a business glossary, managing business glossary terms, lineage, and data classification), and with ensuring that metadata about key data is governed appropriately. Collaborate with Data Stewards and technology SMEs to measure and monitor data quality in an efficient, meaningful, and scalable manner.
Administer data governance related tools and facilitate data access and data protection requirements in support of Least Privileged Access and Zero Trust as enterprise standard practices.
Coordinating root cause analyses and the resolution of data problems.
Work with other technical teams to operationalize new data governance capabilities (e.g., Snowflake Object Tagging).
Assist the Data Governance Officer with maintaining the Data Governance Framework (i.e. the listing of the Bank's most significant data sets, each of which is assigned to a data steward and a data owner), Data Steward Forum meetings & events and contribute ideas / assist in writing the Data Governance standards, processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work with all levels within the organization, train colleagues, act as a point of excellent customer service, and raise opportunities for improvement to management, and accept critical feedback.
3-7 years of experience with a minimum of 3 in a data related role, data related certifications desired, but not required.
Proficiency with writing SQL queries for data analysis purposes in different databases (e.g., ANSI SQL, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL, T-SQL), Oracle (PL SQL), Postgres (PostgreSQL).
Strong understanding of database design and data structures (e.g., normalization, Metamodel, Conceptual Data Model (CDM), Logical Data Model (LDM), and Physical Data Model (PDM).
Expertise with PowerPoint, Excel (pivot tables, charting, formulas), Visio and Word.
Demonstrated experience with visualization and/or reporting tools (e.g., Qlik Sense, QlikView, Tableau, Crystal Reports, SAP Web Intelligence (Web))
Familiarity with Data Governance Tools (e.g., Alation, Atlan, Collibra, Informatica) and familiarity with data modeling tools (e.g., Idera ER/Studio, SAP PowerDesigner, erwin)
Familiarity with Agile (e.g., scrum, Kanban) approach
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience. Professional experience will be considered in lieu of education.
