IHG Human Resources Intern - InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay in Singapore
Your day to day
Perform entry-level human resources and administrative duties in support of the hotel’s Human Resources programs and philosophies. Provide basic employee assistance, often serving as initial point of contact for human resources-related matters. Promote a positive team culture while ensuring our guests experience is unique and brings the brand to life.
Financial returns:
- Identify and assist in planning for the purchasing of supplies, equipment, facilities and services necessary to maintain an efficient office.
People:
Support in all programmes and activities to foster a positive work environment for all employees.
Administering annual team member satisfaction surveys.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with all team members.
Conduct new team member orientation providing information on hotel or company standards, policies, procedures, rules and team member benefit programmes.
Administering and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date personnel files and records for all employees.
Assist with recruitment process as assigned
Guest experience:
Organize and expedite flow of work, efficient follow-up on pending matters.
Communicate and interpret instructions, ensure correct information are communicated to team members or guest in manager’s absence.
Coordinate telephone/conference calls and incoming mail
Set up and maintain filing system. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional work area.
Responsible business:
Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community and promote team member involvement in local community.
Complete and/or coordinate activities related to assigned projects; assist in establishing project timetables, action steps and status updates; follow-up, as appropriate, to ensure timely execution to meet established deadlines.
Coordinate the preparation of employee orientation, training sessions, and employee morale programs or events. May participate in presenting new employee orientation materials. Meet with new employees to review new hire paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
Assist in the communication and administration of all employee related benefit and welfare programs; distribute information and forms to employees.
Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and hotel or company policies and procedures. Conduct annual HR compliance/standards self-audit.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What we need from you
Diploma/Degree in Business or Hospitality management or related disciplines
Minimum 5 years hotel sales experience, preferably 5-star hospitality
Strong presentation, commercial and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills to develop and foster beneficial relationships
High level of passion, enthusiasm and drive for results
High level of common sense and high skill of problem solving and decision making
In-depth knowledge of sales principles and techniques
Strategic and tactical thinker - ability to develop strategic sales plans, establish goals and objectives, set performance targets and deliver projects on time
Keeps abreast of changes and assesses trends in market conditions and consumer buying behaviour to create strategies that drive business opportunities
