Role Overview

The English Language Learning (ELL) division of Pearson is looking for a talented and motivated professional to join our growing organization as Senior QA Automation Engineer . In this exciting role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure platform quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automated testing frameworks for both backend and frontend components.

  • Develop and maintain high-quality automation code for various testing software.

  • Collaborate with development teams to understand system design and architecture.

  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.

  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.

  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.

  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.

  • Monitor debugging process results and investigate the causes of non-conforming software.

  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (superior professional education (Superior FP diploma) is also accepted).

  • Minimum 6 years work experience as a QA tester or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.

Technical knowledge:

  • Jenkins knowledge

  • Logging tools (preferably Splunk, but others like Grafana or Kibana are accepted)

  • E2E testing (Selenium,Cypress or Playwright preferably)

  • BDD testing (Cucumber or similar)

  • Performance testing (JMeter or similar)

  • API testing (RestAPI, Postman or similar)

  • Security testing is a plus

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
