Business Unit

ARO is a global fluid management business that started in 1930 and has been part of the Ingersoll Rand family since 1994. We offer a range of pumping solutions in the chemical, life sciences, food & beverage, electronics, and industrial markets.

The Role

The ARO business unit is seeking a product manager working in the global product management team responsible for managing the system components (accessory) portfolio while managing some expanded category items targeting light industrial markets.

This product manager will be directly responsible for the breadth and profitability profile of their portfolio while working across other product managers to enhance their system components range that best enhances their portfolio to improve our overall offering to our customers.

This role is exciting because the boundaries are limited, meaning that there is lots of room to think and act like an owner. The role will have the authority to try things, fail fast, and create many business cases every year. Additionally, there will be many opportunities for strategic sourcing projects, partnerships, and even mergers and acquisitions.

Due to the scope of the role, the ideal candidate will need to be a self-starter with a strong bias to execution. This role is perfect suited for someone who is looking to make a big impact and create outcomes that add incremental value early.

What the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ownership of a portfolio including cost and margin profile, price positioning leadership, value prop creation, and competitive positioning.

  • Manage a new product pipeline and run new product development projects.

  • Drive lifecycle management for the portfolio with regular evaluation of performance, relaunch, supersessions, and rationalization.

  • Partner with sales, channel leadership, and sales enablement to build product competencies and drive product adoption.

  • Own and manage strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and value proposition.

  • Analyze market trends, technology trends, competitive products developments, and other potential impact to the portfolio.

  • Manage transactional price discount requests while meeting or exceeding margin and price realization targets.

  • Conduct voice of customer activities to identify business, customer, and user needs based on customer account reviews, stakeholder interviews, and sales channel partner surveys. Represent the needs of end customers in all business activities.

  • Partner with Demand Generation Marketing teams to build campaigns for respective products.

  • Drive strategic sourcing decisions and localization strategies.

  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams to execute product development, integration, and commercialization plans to deliver on business case.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Technical, Business, Economics, or Engineering) with related experience required. MBA desired.

  • 5+ years of work experience required. Experience within industrial B2B markets desired.

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience working with customers is highly desired

  • Experience working with phase-gate product development cycle and/or sourcing is a plus.

  • Experience working in a sales capacity or with a sales channel is a plus.

  • Excellent Presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines. Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

  • This role can be remote based with a desired target to be located in Europe or India.

  • Travel up to 20% is required.
