Great news! We are currently seeking a Business Development Specialist, Glass & Aluminum Door Hardware to be based remotely and accessible to our Vaughan, Ontario Headquarters.

Job Summary

As a Business Development Specialist, Glass & Aluminum Door Hardware, you will lead the execution of the national glass and aluminum door hardware strategy in Canada, reporting to Director, Business Development. You will provide glass and aluminum OEM sales support, training and business development functions to internal teams, customers, prospects, and end users. In addition to owning the traditional sales channels for glass/aluminum hardware, you will lead the advancement of these product portfolios within the Contract Hardware Distributor [CHD] customer base and wholesale channel. Key deliverables will include collaborating with internal and external specification writers providing training, technical support and assist in specification generation. You will work cooperatively with Canadian and U.S. Customer Support and Order Entry teams to provide technical expertise, order assistance and project management assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the leadership and technical responsibilities for growing sales of the Glass Solutions and aluminum door hardware portfolios for Canada

  • Advance relationships with key customers and prospects and work collaboratively with internal and external sales and specification teams to grow sales, improve specification performance and unlock new opportunities

  • Conduct presentations and training to customers, architects, end users and sales teams to increase their product awareness and quality of specifications and provide on and offsite technical support

  • Liaise with Canadian and U.S. order entry and customer service teams to ensure orders and follow up support is delivered at the highest level

  • Leverage tools such as the Glass Configuration platform and work collaboratively with specification writers using Openings Studio software to create demand from project influencers and drive adoption of these key brands from customers

  • Liaise with U.S. Glass Solutions teams to support new product development and engineering support for Customers including participation on Glass Solutions Steering Committee and monthly business development calls

    Education and Experience

  • University or college degree in business, marketing or related discipline

  • 5+ years’ experience leading the sales and business development for line of business related to frameless glass hardware and aluminum door hardware products

  • 5+ years’ experience in using and understanding architectural drawings to create takeoffs, pricing and technical support

    Key Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills with special focus on working with architects and architectural plans

  • Proficient English communication skills

  • Be personally accountable for the quality of work performed while being able to achieve both personal and professional goals as assigned

  • Demonstrated ability to follow-up/follow-through with tasks to ensure successful on-time completion

  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to meet specified deadlines

  • Monitor pricing, sales and product activities of competitors and develop counter strategies

  • Provide reports of sales activity as well as on national performance the portfolios of product for which you lead

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • High degree of focus

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of products occasionally

  • Ability to travel across Canada and occasionally into the U.S. (for training & trade shows)

  • Valid drivers’ G license in good standing
