PURPOSE Oversees and coordinates activities with manufacturing locations in maintaining, repairing, retiring, relocating and installing plant equipment. Gathers and selects bids to outsource necessary work. Prioritizes repair/improvement issues and opportunities with approval from Director of Manufacturing. This role can be based out of any major metropolitan area within the Central or West Divisions and requires 90% travel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Schedules, coordinates, and manages equipment installation projects with field locations, equipment suppliers and required trades Requisitions and issues tools, equipment, and supplies that are plant equipment related. Schedules, coordinates, and manages equipment relocation projects with locations, suppliers and trades. Includes management and coordination of shipping between locations. Requisitions work from outside services or vendors for projects that require specific expertise or capabilities. Inspects work areas and production schedules to determine type of work, materials, equipment and labor requirements for completion of projects. Prepares material takeoffs and orders materials for specified installation projects. Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards. Supervises and participates in the installation of new equipment Manages and participates in the modification of existing equipment, including removal, re-positioning, and re-installation. Plans and implements equipment and facility design upgrades and maintenance. Establishes equipment related safety policies and procedures with the Corporate Safety Team. Establishes preventative maintenance programs. Monitors adherence. Maintains open communications with Divisional plants of responsibility Works with and manages local maintenance teams as needed Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. May provide work direction to Maintenance Technicians and Supervisor Maintenance at a location. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); post-secondary education preferred. 5 years of experience in a lead maintenance role. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Journeymen, HVAC and electrical skills helpful, but not required. Extensive travel required (90%) COMPETENCIES Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
