Job Description

Reporting to the Vice-President of Business Development, Heavy Industries, the Business Development Representative is responsible for development of our industrial business which will ultimately equate to incremental increases in sales revenues. This will be accomplished by working closely with consulting engineers, contractors, or end-users with specific focus on capital equipment and associated services in the Mining Sector along with other heavy Industry applications in Western Canada. This role will require to be involved with various project delivery models offered by VWT Canada, including Design Build offerings.

  • Proactively promote VWT Canada technical solutions and services to key customers through presentations, trade shows as well as working through the various other go to market channels;

  • Assist in the preparation of preliminary and firm proposals for specific projects to promote the sale of VWS Canada Solutions;

  • Actively follow-up on bids to insure greatest potential for conversion to orders;

  • Manage and lead business development activities within the team. Administer sales function activities by updating leads into sales database, forecasting, staying on top of key projects and key accounts;

  • Set the standard of quality for all information being sent to customers to convey the proper message to the marketplace;

  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels within a customers' organization and other VWTS Business units where required;

  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends, technical advances and report back to management;

  • Understand the complete Veolia offering to identify and promote inter-divisional Veolia sales opportunities;

  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision and work well in a manufacturing based organization;

  • Participation in the definition of sales strategy to meet growth plans.

Qualifications

  • A seasoned professional with a minimum 5 plus years experiences in Industrial capital sales setting;

  • Must have experience and full understanding in a Project based selling environment;

  • Native English speaker. Bilingual French and English a plus;

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation ;

  • Ability to travel 40% of the time;

  • Proven skills to influence customers, close orders, and negotiate Terms and Conditions;

  • Ability to analyze and develop new markets to promote our technical solutions and services portfolio;

  • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater, industrial business with a good understanding of water chemistry;

  • Communication skills. Possess the ability to write and speak clearly, present ideas and concepts to customers;

  • Ability to make presentations and industry related papers to large and small groups;

  • Comfortable with the Google suite.
