Sodexo Off-site Food Production Safety & Quality Assurance Manager in UNION CITY, California

Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking an Off-site Food Production Safety & Quality Assurance Manager for The Pass located in Union City, Ca . They will be responsible to provide onsite leadership in developing, implementing, and monitoring facility quality and food safety strategy and related requirements, policies, procedures, and training for our food manufacturing facility. This manager will also establish a Food Safety Culture program to permeate the manufacturing facility. This position will work closely with the Site Manager and workgroup managers to ensure all food safety and quality assurance practices are being fully utilized throughout the facility.

What You'll Do

  • Daily oversight of Quality and Food Safety policies and programs including FSMA, GMP, EMP, sanitation for chilled environment, food manufacturing facility. Responsible to oversee and manage the safe production of fresh food concepts that meet company objectives and will monitor, report and fix raw material and processing deviations to standards. Investigates all food safety complaints and implements appropriate corrective actions.

  • Verify all HACCP documentation, daily pre- and post-operational food safety checklists are completed and facilitates the document control program at the facility level including all programs, policies, and SOPs. Ensure corrective actions are taken as necessary. Develops and implements onsite auditing programs to drive continuous improvement of Quality and Food Safety programs that will form the roadmap for future locations.

  • Leads situational analysis, risk assessments and recommendations to senior management on potential food safety/public health issues.

  • Ensures facility cleaning and sanitation program, responsible for facilitating and analysis of testing and swabbing programs.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree Bachelor's degree in Microbiology / Food Science / Chemistry or related area or equivalent experience

  • 5 years management experience

  • 5 years functional experience to include understanding of various cooking, prepping and packaging techniques

  • Knowledge of Food Safety and USDA standards

  • Certifications: HACCP, Food Safety, PCQI

  • Preferably have an Osha 10 or 30 certification

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree in Microbiology / Food Science / Chemistry or related area or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 5 years management experience

Minimum Functional Experience - 5 years functional experience to include understanding of various cooking, prepping and packaging techniques
