We are looking for a talented Sr. Demand Analyst to join our team specializing in Marketing for our Components Business Segment in Troy, MI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • The Demand Planning Specialist will coordinate the creation of the Demand plans for use in synchronized business planning within each small to mid-sized business and/or Line of Business. This role will need to liaise and consult with sales, marketing, brand/product organizations, Finance and Supply Chain to facilitate the planning process.

  • Work with Demand Control Leader to understand the implications of near order trends to longer term outlook.

  • Leads the development of the rolling 36 month forecast and support the 5yr demand forecast to support Strategic and Aggregate Planning Process.

  • Maintain integrity of the Demand plan and take corrective actions promptly to ensure Demand Plan stability; escalate as appropriate.

  • Manage across cross functional and cross-BU interactions to ensure a dependable and efficient demand management, including daily operations.

  • Use knowledge of Business / Customers / Markets/ Products to efficiently challenge Demand Plan assumptions to improve the quality and robustness of the demand plan.

  • Drive assumption management in demand planning.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction and leverage common processes tools, and information systems.

  • Support Corporate Demand Management initiatives and lead the global business unit demand planning process to ensure global alignment.

  • Manage consolidated sales projections for volumes and financial implications in both the monthly demand planning process and to deliver to Strategic Planning Process while working cross-functionally to support the annual operating planning process.

  • Create common demand management processes and procedures by establishing collaborative business partner relationships.

  • Approach daily problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets.

  • Develop, understand and improve necessary Key Performance Indicators.

  • Manage, coach and develop staff; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

  • Market Analysis - Researches information using meaningful and valid sources and data to expand your knowledge of markets; analyzes findings by connecting dots and identifying trends to create a coherent image of the market; summarizes relevant insights by condensing, prioritizing, and translating how these impact our business.

  • Market Forecasting - Analyzes and interprets market data from a variety of internal and external sources and modeling to formulate unbiased market projections specific to business segment.

  • Problem Management - Controls the life cycle of all problems using the required processes and tools to proactively prevent recurrence of incidents to minimize adverse impact on the organization.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Undergraduate degree required or equivalent experience.

  • Green Belt certification preferred.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Essential Demand Management Understanding

  • 6S Green Belt Certified or willingness to train.

  • 3-5 years experience

  • Desirable

  • Project Management

  • Understands Supply Chain

  • Hybrid role located in Troy, MI (2-3 days in the office)

  • Minimal to no travel

  • Oracle, JDE, Blue Yonder and Salesforce experience a plus

  • This role will specifically be supporting the Industrial Team at Cummins-Meritor.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

Base salary range: $74,800 – $112,200

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
