Hutchinson Industries Technical Sales Representative in Trenton, New Jersey

General Description The Technical Sales Representative supports customers, sales and marketing, and internal teams to Maintain and grow sales for existing and new accounts based on knowledge of the customer, preferences, and product knowledge. Routinely resolves customer issues within established guidelines and partners with customers in identifying satisfactory solutions. Creates, develops, and fosters quality business relationships to generate new business, and increase business from the current customer base. Works closely with cross-functional teams in Engineering, Production, and Quality. Specific Duties • Support and manage existing accounts as assigned. • Develop and maintain business relationships by promoting and selling Hutchinson Industries, Inc.'s products with accounts in established and new markets. • Obtain budgeted sales revenue target by matching our value proposition of new and existing products to customer needs. Build strong customer relationships through face to face, phone, and computer communication both individually and with support of sales and technical staff. • Generate new revenue streams by aggressively pushing new/existing products. Convince the customers of the need and value that the product offerings. • Evaluate customers’ business needs and prepare and submit formal and informal proposals and recommendations. • Develop quarterly sales call plan, track account performance. • Domestic travel to fulfill assigned responsibilities. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. • Accurately process internal and external customer transactions such as orders, solicitations, and quotes. Serve as the contact point when required. Work closely with production to ensure that all orders are shipped to the customer on time. • Communicate with production and purchasing departments to obtain lead times for new and existing customer orders. Other Duties Support Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives, participate in EHS audits and investigations and set the example for workers by following all EHS rules and procedures. Qualifications • 3 to 5 years of business sales and/or engineering experience. • Must have the ability to work independently and possess strong decision-making, motivational, workload management, analytical and organizational skills. • Must be able to communicate with management, staff, and customers and demonstrate sound judgment/reasoning skills effectively and professionally. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The employee frequently is required to sit; walk, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, for viewing a computer terminal distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception vision for driving and ability to adjust focus. This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
