Description
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative to join our clients and assist in delivering an exceptional patient experience. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, the Patient Service Representative plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient front-office operations. This position involves greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling inquiries, verifying insurance information, and ensuring that the overall patient experience remains positive and efficient.
Responsibilities:
Greet and check-in patients in a professional and courteous manner.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments accurately, ensuring proper follow-up for appointments and procedures.
Verify and update patient information, including demographics, insurance details, and medical history.
Answer patient calls, address inquiries, and resolve issues promptly or direct to appropriate departments.
Assist with obtaining and verifying insurance pre-authorizations and referrals as needed.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Assist in coordinating patient flow and ensuring that patients are seen in a timely manner.
Provide necessary forms and information to patients, such as consent forms and patient instructions.
Assist with the maintenance of office supplies and general cleanliness of the reception area.
Follow all office procedures for scheduling, data entry, and patient communications.
Support administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient office operations.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or relevant certification preferred).
Previous experience in a healthcare setting or customer service role is highly preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse patient populations.
Proficiency in office software and the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems, including Epic Systems, Cerner, Allscripts, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen Healthcare, Meditech, and Greenway Health.
Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology is a plus.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Positive attitude and a team-oriented approach to patient care.
