Description
We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Controller in the Financial Services industry, located in Torrance, California. This role involves managing accounting records, producing financial reports, and overseeing all employees involved in the accounting process. (This role is 4 days on-site per week.)
Responsibilities:
• Managing the daily operations of the accounting department
• Producing and interpreting financial and regulatory reports
• Ensuring accurate reconciliation of general ledger and bank statements
• Overseeing the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets
• Coordinating and managing staff development objectives
• Providing budgetary performance results across multiple departments and branches
• Reviewing and interpreting key financial practices and policies impacting several functional areas
• Coordinating the integration of new products and services into the department's operation.
Requirements • The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in the Financial Services sector.
• Proficiency in Regulatory Reporting is crucial for this role.
• Demonstrable experience in Monthly Financial Reporting is required.
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is necessary.
• The candidate should be capable of performing Budgeting and Forecasting tasks.
• A comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and standards within the Financial Services sector is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are expected.
• The candidate should be proficient in using financial software and systems.
• A certification such as a CPA or CFA is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively is a must.
