About the team

We are a small but mighty market insights team. We support the marketing, sales and product organization to solve important business problems. This role will provide an economic and competitive analysis report on a monthly basis, and market research support. The role will also include working on high impact, strategic projects such as identifying emerging market opportunities, doing in-depth 3rd party analysis to understand a specific market, or conducting qualitative research to build deep customer empathy. We’re looking for a candidate who is curious and tenacious to find critical answers to grow our business. In some cases you will be supporting on-going research projects, and in others you will be given a project to lead with guidance from the Research Manager.

Requirements for the role

  • To be eligible for the role you must align with the following:

  • Currently enrolled in post secondary education

  • A graduation date of no earlier than 4 months after the internship/co-op concludes

  • Not require sponsorship to work within the role now or in the future

  • Come in 2x per week to our Toronto office (all of our co-op roles are hybrid)

What you'll bring

  • Qualifications you’ll bring:

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or postgraduate program in a related field

  • Highly detail oriented and pays close attention to the specifics of problems, questions and projects.

  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills; great attitude and go-getter spirit.

  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated analytical experience, with the ability to develop and understand strategy.

  • Passion for storytelling with data to inform decisions.

  • Knowledge of research methodology, techniques and analysis is an asset.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and relevant software applications is an asset.

  • Applied experience writing queries, scripts and stored procedures (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.) is an asset.

  • Experience with data visualization and reporting (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is an asset.

  • Ability to ask for help when needed, while taking steps to problem solve independently.

How you will lead

  • How you’ll lead:

  • Work alongside the Research Manager to provide any support required, while also working with cross-functional teams

  • Work in Qualtrics to program surveys, collect and analyze results

  • Assist with creating research reports

  • Desk research to provide in-depth understanding of market conditions and opportunities

  • Present findings to stakeholders and in team meetings with the larger Marketing organization for QuickBooks Canada

  • Participate actively in team events, both on and offsite
