ROLE OBJECTIVE:

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic and executional commercial leadership across the Oncology portfolio. This role will guide strategic brand decisions, coaching others in brand strategy with deep knowledge applied in innovative ways.

  • Manage and implement multiple business tactics and strategies to effectively support commercialization, profit margin and business plan objectives across the Oncology portfolio.

  • Responsible for strategic development of brand plans, acquiring key market insights, financial management, project management and budget administration.

  • Support Oncology Country Head in fostering, encouraging, and driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve efficient and effective operational execution of brand and portfolio strategy

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Commercial leadership role managing both marketing and business analytics functions with direct reports

  • Leads the development and delivery of Canadian strategic brand plans and aligned marketing programs and materials to optimize portfolio assets.

  • Identifies the need for, interprets and leverages market research in the creation of the strategy, programs, and materials.

  • Engages with customers to develop deep insights and market intelligence to proactively identify brand opportunities and issues.

  • Works in close partnership with field teams; Develops and Champions Brand/Portfolio Vision with sales team.

  • Develops, executes and coordinates promotional activities & marketing projects as well as strategic marketing initiatives by harmonizing and managing internal and external processes

  • Creates project plans, capturing progress updates from team members, visualizing projects progress across all functional levels and facilitating cross-functional team coordination.

  • Monitors progress and provides feedback according to strategy, plan, benefit delivery and budget

  • Leads assumption development and cross-functional alignment to drive forecasts in line with financial cycle.

  • Works with Data, Analytics & Insights to develop the forecast recommendation to Oncology Country Head

  • Leads development and alignment/tracking of cross-functional OPEX for brand/portfolio.

  • Tracks marketing OPEX, identifies deviation from plan and develops mitigation plan.

KEY KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a commercial environment; Oncology marketing experience required

  • Sales/Sales Management, Market Access, Business analytics, or Medical Affairs experience is an asset

  • Advanced degree in business administration or science is preferred

  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 25% of the time). Hybrid work environment with expectation to be in-office 2-3 days per week, or approximately 8+ days per month, depending on business needs.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong collaboration and ability to lead cross-functional teams

  • Flexible and fast worker who is able to keep direction in a constantly changing environment

  • Very good oral and written communication skills in English, bilingual English/French is an asset.

  • Practical business sense with intellectual sharpness

  • Strives to continuously improve the efficiency of his/her own work but also of the systems & processes within his/her remit

  • Early adopter of innovative solutions and demonstrated digital capability across multiple platforms
