Job Duties:       Merit SI Technologies, LLC in Toledo, OH, is seeking a Systems Engineer I to design, develop and implement SCADA and controls systems for energy storage and renewable energy power plants. The individual will leverage an understanding of SCADA and controls system principles and technologies, as well as a knowledge of networking, communication protocols, power systems and OT best practices.

Job responsibilities and duties include:

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure successful project execution, to trouble-shoot control related issues, and to adhere to security standards and deployment protocols
  • Implement SCADA/Controls solutions for assigned projects
  • Program and commission SCADA and Controls systems according to project-specific timelines
  • Participate in the programing and configuration of RTACs, PLCs, HMIs, historians, and other SCAD/Control system components
  • Support system integration into third party systems
  • Assist in creating and maintaining control and SCADA systems drawings and other documentation
  • Interact with customers to provide support for past and ongoing projects, enabling customers to meet critical commissioning and other timelines
  • Integrate Merit SCADA/Controls could-based solutions for customer-specific projects
  • Support service team by investigating and solving tickets raised by customers on completed projects
  • Work with the systems engineering manager to deploy scalable and supportable SCADA/Control systems
  • Gain exposure to power systems and their intersection with control systems and how control systems interact with electoral components and systems
  • Ensure familiarity with OT best practices to ensure efficient and reliable control and SCADA system operations
  • Collaborate with project management to report project status, risk, and mitigation measure
  • Adhere to quality management processes in accordance with Merit Controls' ISO 9001 certification

This position does not oversee the work of any other personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any related Engineering or Information Technology (IT) field of study, plus at least one (1)year of experience in the job offered or any related position(s) in which the required experience was gained.

Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, or knowledge with the following:

  1. Experience in SCADA engineering techniques, practices, and platforms
  2. Experience with industry-standard communications, including at least one of the following: Modbus, OPC-UA/DA, or DNP-3
  3. Professional experience with controls engineering techniques
  4. RTAC and PLC programming, including the following: structured text (IEC61131), ladder logic and function block diagram

No Travel. Work from home (WFH) benefit available; must be able to work in office 3 days a week and attend meetings in the office, as required.

Salary:  $ 68037 per year.
