Amgen MSL Lead_Cardiovalcular(Sr Manager) in Tokyo, Japan

Job Purpose

  • To maximize Amgen's value propositions through first-class medical and scientific projects, services and expertise, with key scientific customers within a therapeutic area

  • To develop and implement scientific programs in in collaboration with external/internal customers

Key Activities

  • Identifies, develops and maintains collaborative relationships with current and future scientific experts, cooperative study groups

  • Develop strategy and tactical plan for engagement with the scientific community and oversee the effective and efficient functioning of individual MSLs and the MSL team.

  • Discusses scientific value messages, clinical outcome and patient benefits with scientific experts and hospital pharmacists, collective scientific insight to inform brand strategy.

  • Transversely cooperate with internal stakeholders to support the generation and communication of scientific and medical insights to internal stakeholders.

  • Ensures society engagement: support of international and local congresses

  • Lead and contribute to medical initiatives/project with internal/external key stakeholder to enforce medical strategy

  • Develops and educate high performance MSL team

  • Ensure strong career pathways are established through development planning of team and oneself to ensure talent engagement and retention.

  • Identifies new research opportunities

  • Delivers internal training for selected topics

  • Ensures conduct of work in line with compliance regulations

Qualifications

  • Work experience in Medical Science Liaison, Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs or Clinical Development in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Deep knowledge in responsible disease areas

  • Good communication/negotiation skills with scientific experts and internal stakeholders

  • Skilled coach to support development of colleagues

  • Team management by development and execution of plans with clear credible vision

  • English proficiency in reading and listening

  • English speaking skill at business level

  • Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, Master degree, MD) preferred or demonstration of equivalent combination of relevant educational and professional training

  • Three years of experience in industry (pharmaceuticals or devices or medicals), or a related scientific field in academia

  • Experience in working with cross function

  • Experience in change management

  • Experience in Medical Department or Clinical Development

  • Experience with clinical study management and conduct

  • Medical / scientific research experience

  • Scientific expertise in responsible disease areas, related products, and interested in latest discoveries

  • Project management and presentation skills

  • Good knowledge of clinical research, drug safety, legal and compliance environment

  • Willingness to continuously expand medical, scientific, market, and industry knowledge with a good business acumen
