Eaton Corporation Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace in Titchfield, United Kingdom

For our Fuel and Motion Control Systems (FMC) site in Titchfield we are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer.

Role overview:

This position is the Senior Manufacturing Engineer within a Manufacturing Engineering Team, Supporting all operations areas of the Titchfield site.

In this role, you will be providing day to day support to the Leader of Manufacturing Engineering, by supporting production areas in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead ME to drive the manufacturing engineering team to ensure timely completion issues to enable production to meet customer requirements

  • Support the lead ME to review performance indicators, and takes appropriate actions, to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are met

  • Ensure required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing system requirements.

  • Assure policies, procedures, and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured product

  • Provide leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity and delivery performance

  • Support product design organization through new product introduction phase to ensure customer manufacturing delivery times are met.

  • Support Commercial, and Product Design in the review of stranger part processing, determining the Make v Buy requirements based on in-house capability, product and process obsolescence.

  • Assure that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed considering local regulations, Eaton policy, and good corporate citizenship

  • Specify job assignments as requested by the lead ME for manufacturing engineering personnel, and monitors performance, to achieve product delivery and cost requirements

  • Support manufacturing improvement initiatives, participating on teams in order to drive best practices across manufacturing

  • Support the relevant Material Review board part non-conformance assessment as applicable.

  • Participate in research & development type projects, to provide manufacturing input from initial concept through to prototype hardware

  • Willing to deputise for the Manufacturing Engineering Leader in times of absence, with regards to escalations through Tier meetings, supervising team tasks, responsibilities, and priorities

  • Participate in department talent review and development, through new starter interviews and regular team feedback

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic

  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management

  • Thorough Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes

  • Knowledge of New Product Introduction process, ideally with a working knowledge of Agile PROLaunch

  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 initiatives including additive manufacture, connected work centres, and automation

  • Knowledge of supply chain, specifically those manufacturing processes that are carried out on behalf of Eaton by sub-contractors
