Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Distribution industry located in The Woodlands, Texas, for a Controller role. As a Controller, you will be at the forefront of financial management processes, ensuring the integrity of financial data in compliance with regulations, and providing leadership for reporting activities.
Responsibilities
• Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial reports
• Oversee the consolidation and internal financial reporting processes on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Direct change initiatives to continually enhance the company's financial management processes
• Set and monitor performance and development goals for the staff, conducting regular performance appraisals
• Foster strong relationships with executive management, operational leadership, and the finance team
• Present financial materials to the Finance Director and CFO
• Guarantee the efficient use and updates of financial systems to produce accurate and timely information
• Conduct research and analysis on technical accounting matters, making informed recommendations
• Test key accounting processes and develop improvements for optimal performance
• Manage treasury activities including overseeing wires, ACH, and account balances reporting
• Oversee tax authority setups for payroll and entities, ensuring compliance with outside CPA firm
• Lead internal and external audits, and ensure timely remittance of tax documents as needed

Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar role
• Demonstrable skills in Account Reconciliation
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is a must
• CPA or CMA certification is preferred
• Strong analytical, strategic planning and communication skills
• Proficiency in using financial software and advanced Excel skills
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
• Proven leadership skills and ability to oversee a team
• Familiarity with financial regulations and legislation in the food industry
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Sound business acumen, with ability to understand complex business scenarios.
