As the onsite Senior Network Engineer in west Georgia, you will play a critical role in provisioning, deploying, configuring, and administering various network and security systems, including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and network monitoring tools. You will be responsible for optimizing the organization’s network performance, ensuring security policies are enforced, and supporting the overall network infrastructure.
Contract Duration: 6 month + the potential to convert to perm
Required Skills & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Network Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in network design and implementation, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and network hardware configuration.
Technical Skills:
WiFi/Access Point experience
Proficient in Cisco routers , switches , firewalls (hardware and software configurations).
Knowledge of LAN , WAN , VOIP , and Site-to-Site VPN configuration.
Experience with network performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Network security experience, including policy development and access control.
Proficiency in Layer 2/3 switching , routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), multicast, and QoS.
Proficient in Meraki Access Points
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and project reporting.
Desired Skills & Experience
- CCNA certification is a plus
What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities
Network Design & Configuration: Design, configure, and maintain Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) over Site-to-Site VPNs. Collaborate with network architects on network optimization projects.
Network Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and minimize outages. Plan and schedule network upgrades as necessary to ensure maximum uptime.
Network Security: Secure the network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining access controls, and ensuring compliance with security best practices.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and related project details. Improve documentation as required.
Reporting & Project Management: Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing network projects to completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet organizational objectives.
Professional Development: Stay up to date on industry trends, technologies, and best practices through continuous education, professional publications, and participation in relevant networks and professional organizations.
