Job Title: Machine Tool Electrician

Job Description

Wires machines, equipment, and their subassemblies following layouts, electrical circuits, and other written and verbal specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Read, comprehend, and interpret wiring diagrams.

  • Understand and support company philosophies, goals, and directions including ISO9001 policies and procedures.

  • Safely apply material handling processes.

  • Produce quality work within the timeframe that meets the expectation of the Team/Group Leads.

  • Set the department/area standards in housekeeping, attendance, and teamwork by example.

  • Possess working knowledge of standard hand tools.

  • Interact professionally with customers in the plant and field.

  • Possess working knowledge of standard and special tooling.

  • Perform all line wiring operations.

  • Know and understand the missing parts system.

  • Practice good communications; train employees/customers.

  • Recognize problems with electrical designs and parts, take appropriate corrective action to resolve.

  • Recommend improvements for work area, products, and processes.

  • Perform prototype work with limited Engineering and minimal supervision.

  • Perform and/or oversee machine installations in the field.

  • Analyze designs for correctness, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Perform panel component changes as well as build panels.

  • Build and wire multiple product lines.

  • Complete safety training on the use of overhead cranes and follow all safety requirements when using overhead cranes.

  • Complete Lockout/Tag out training using all required items when performing Lockout.

  • Work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.

  • Adhere to the 5S standards in the work area.

Essential Skills

  • 3 years of machine wiring experience.

  • Ability to wire machinery, wire control panels, and rework circuits.

  • Understanding of how to check transformers, circuit breakers, and other parts for wear and tear.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of panel building, panel wiring, and electrical maintenance.

  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and electrical circuits.

  • Experience with manual machining and control panels.

Work Environment

Employee may be regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock, and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, and painting. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stretch, and crouch. Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close focus, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The work schedule is 2nd Shift M-TH 2:30pm-1am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Tecumseh, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
