Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Syracuse, New York

Description We are inviting applications for the role of an Accounting Clerk in the construction/contracting industry. Located in Syracuse, New York, this role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of functions, including customer invoicing, processing credit card payments, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications

• Conduct regular collections on a weekly basis

• Oversee Granite Gold Warranty Registrations and reconciliations

• Participate in general vendor warranty reconciliations

• Contribute to weekly Cost of Goods (COGS) Reporting

• Verify weekly customer sales tax reports for accuracy

• Manage posting of customer remittances

• Handle input of A/P to SAGE50; match invoice amounts to PO#s, code to correct General Ledger accounts

• Account for sales tax accruals on A/P invoices accurately

• Maintain back-up documents in the Google drive

• Cross-check vendor A/P statements against entries in SAGE50

• Execute additional duties as required

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure detail and accuracy for accounting purposes

• Assist with year-end inventory reconciliation as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, ensuring all financial records are accurate and complete.

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP), including managing invoices and processing payments.

• Demonstrable skills in managing Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, payment follow-ups, and record keeping.

• Knowledge in Billing procedures, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing to clients.

• Expertise in Data Entry, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in company databases.

• Proficiency in Invoice Processing, ensuring all invoices are accurately recorded and paid on time.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, utilizing formulas, charts, and pivot tables to manage and analyze data.

• Experience with Oracle financial software, managing financial data and generating reports.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing business payments, billings, and payroll functions.

• Experience with SAP software for business operations and customer relations.
