RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under direction, develop, implement, and administer safety and occupational health programs and work procedures.
Possess and apply a broad knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, practices and procedures.
Interpret and assure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
Prepare and distribute educational materials and information.
Compile and submit required OSHA accident reports.
Plan and conduct facility audits and recommend actions for the correction of hazardous situations for compliance with OSHA regulations.
Conduct job safety analyses to develop safe work procedures schedules.
Participate in periodic safety meetings.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety, industrial hygiene, or equivalent, OR
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline PLUS qualified safety designation (i.e., Certified Safety Professional through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals).
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Four years or more directly related experience required.
An advanced/graduate degree in industrial safety, industrial hygiene, or equivalent may qualify as an equivalency for up to one year of required experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position will report regularly in person to Superior, WI
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as some travel may be required
Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required to establish and maintain productive internal and external working relationships.
Professional safety certification is preferred
This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
