RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under direction, develop, implement, and administer safety and occupational health programs and work procedures.

  • Possess and apply a broad knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, practices and procedures.

  • Interpret and assure compliance with safety regulations and policies.

  • Prepare and distribute educational materials and information.

  • Compile and submit required OSHA accident reports.

  • Plan and conduct facility audits and recommend actions for the correction of hazardous situations for compliance with OSHA regulations.

  • Conduct job safety analyses to develop safe work procedures schedules.

  • Participate in periodic safety meetings.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety, industrial hygiene, or equivalent, OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline PLUS qualified safety designation (i.e., Certified Safety Professional through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Four years or more directly related experience required.

  • An advanced/graduate degree in industrial safety, industrial hygiene, or equivalent may qualify as an equivalency for up to one year of required experience.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position will report regularly in person to Superior, WI

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as some travel may be required

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required to establish and maintain productive internal and external working relationships.

  • Professional safety certification is preferred

  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
