Mexico Joe’s is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house operations! If you have a passion for great food, strong leadership skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want you on our team.
As Kitchen Manager, you’ll oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring top-quality food preparation, maintaining health and safety standards, managing facilities, and leading a high-performing team. You’ll be hands-on in both management and kitchen shifts, setting the standard for excellence and teamwork.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead, develop, and inspire the kitchen team.
Manage hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Oversee onboarding and training for new kitchen staff.
Monitor and maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation.
Control labor and food costs while managing inventory and supply orders.
Ensure compliance with health department regulations and food safety standards.
Maintain and coordinate kitchen equipment repairs.
Implement and uphold cleaning schedules and sanitation protocols.
Assist in managing BOHA!, our back-of-house software system.
Develop and execute creative food features.
Participate in management meetings and contribute to company goals.
Work a mix of scheduled lunch and dinner line shifts.
Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive work environment.
Job Requirements:
3+ years of professional line cook experience.
1+ years in a kitchen management or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and health codes.
Exceptional leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
Proven ability to control costs and optimize kitchen operations.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible availability.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must possess ServSafe certification within 6 months of obtaining the position.
Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
