As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Specialist (Engineering Lab Supervisor)to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC).

Responsibilities

Duties of the Operations Specialist - Engineering Lab Supervisor will include the following:

• Supervise Engineering Lab Production by Engineering Technicians

• Assigns and monitors production goals

• Oversees repair, test and calibration of sensors

• Works closely with Engineering on development efforts

• Provides sensor suites to production Electronics Technicians

• Monitors status of LRU availability

• Maintains test equipment, chambers, wind tunnel, etc.

• Maintains outdoor sensor test facility

• Develops annual Engineering Lab consumable needs list

• Monitors Machine Shop consumable inventory

• Assesses/assigns of Shop Support Tickets

• Coordinates with Operations Manager, Electronics Shop Supervisor, or Engineering Manager (for assigned Engineering Support tasks) to meet production goals

Qualifications

The Operations Specialist - Engineering Lab Supervisor selected should have the following:

• BS/BA Degree in a relevant field with at least 3 years of relevant experience in planning and overseeing the design, construction and testing of complex operationally deployed ocean sensor systems. -OR-
• AS/AA Degree in a relevant field with at least 10 years of relevant experience in planning and overseeing the design, construction and testing of complex operationally deployed ocean sensor systems.
