Job Title: Assistant Controller

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role involves preparing and maintaining formal procedures, assisting with accounts payable and receivable questions, and conducting credit card and expense report analysis. You will also be responsible for reviewing and working with international subsidiaries on month and year-end processes, reconciling balance sheet accounts, managing schedules for accurate financial reporting, processing weekly payroll, and assisting with various financial reports and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain formal procedures relative to areas of responsibility.

  • Assist the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Manager with questions and credit card/expense report analysis.

  • Review and collaborate with international subsidiaries on month and year-end processes.

  • Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts to subsidiary ledgers for domestic and international subsidiaries.

  • Manage and maintain various schedules for specific General Ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting for domestic and international subsidiaries.

  • Process weekly payroll and related reports.

  • Prepare various miscellaneous reports, analyses, and projects as requested by others through the Controller.

  • Conduct bank reconciliations.

  • Assist during the annual physical inventory count for verification, reconciliation, and preparation of adjusting entries.

  • Support the annual year-end financial review as requested by the Controller and external review team.

  • Communicate internationally with suppliers.

  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BA degree preferred with a concentration in Accounting, Business, and/or related field.

  • 2+ years of accounting experience required.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft products and basic computer programs.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

  • Capability to lift up to 35lbs.

  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and following safety rules and procedures.

  • Near visual acuity and accommodation required for computer operation.

  • Strong communication skills on current telephone systems.

Work Environment

This position requires you to work on-site five days a week, from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. The dress code is business casual. You will be part of a team of three in the accounting department and report directly to the Controller.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $33.65/hr.
